Pap’s was founded by Rick Waldon who grew up working in commercial kitchens and spent many years in the snack food industry. While in the snack food business Rick began looking for better genuine beef jerky and beef sticks to sell his retail customers and in the process discovered that the type of premium beef products he was looking for weren’t readily available.
Drawing on his cooking experience he began experimenting with different cuts of beef, marinades and spices, to create the authentic recipes we use today for Pap’s beef jerky. Pap’s beef jerky is made from premium, very lean, thin cuts of solid beef, with no preservatives or MSG. The majority of the beef jerky you will find in your local store is chopped and formed using much lower grades of meat. Our finished beef jerky is a high protein, savory bite of beef that chews down like a steak.
Pap’s beef sticks are 100% USDA certified premium American beef. We do NOT use fillers such as pork, corn solids, soy flour or mechanically separated chicken you will find in most commercially marketed beef sticks. We follow old world sausage making techniques and use the finest quality seasonings and spices available to create beef sticks that are tender with bold flavors that complement the subtle taste of beef.
